Nuggets & boosts · Updated for 1.3.1

How Prospectour nuggets, ads and boosts work

Plan nugget ads in four-ad rounds, use the 4:1 gem exchange and track the exact boost time credited by the server.

The new gem-to-nugget Exchange

Version 1.2.0 lets you convert gems into nuggets at 4 gems = 1 nugget. Use the slider to trade only the amount you want. Exchanges are final, work in one direction and may change.

Land strategy: if your only goal is another early square, a 2,520-gem Land Credit is 10% cheaper than exchanging 2,800 gems into the 700 nuggets needed for the same square.

Nugget ads vs boost ads

Nugget ads

Up to 108 per day at 8 nuggets each. Version 1.3.1 serves them in rounds of four followed by a 95-second pause.

Boost ads

Up to 48 per day. Each gives 30 minutes at 2× gem production, allowing up to 24 boosted hours across two bank fills. Boost ads are not paced.

How the four-ad rounds work

Watch four nugget ads, then wait while the Market label counts down 95 seconds. When the countdown ends, the next round becomes available. The pause gives ad networks time to find fresh inventory instead of running dry and returning “no ad available”.

Calculator impact: the reward remains 8 nuggets per completed ad and the daily input still accepts up to 108. The calculator now also shows the minimum round-pause time created by your chosen number of ads; actual viewing time is additional.

The new boost formula

If you boost for h hours, your whole-day factor is:

Daily factor = 1 + (boosted hours ÷ 24)
0 hours = 1× · 6 hours = 1.25× · 12 hours = 1.5× · 18 hours = 1.75× · 24 hours = 2×

The bank still holds a maximum of 12 hours. To use all 48 ads, fill it, let some or all of that time run down, then return and fill it again.

No charge for a boost that cannot add real time

Previously, watching a boost ad with an almost-full bank could consume one of the day's ads while adding only a few seconds. Version 1.1.9 no longer charges the daily allowance when the ad cannot add meaningful boost time.

The nugget reward taper is gone

The economy originally included a future reduction in nugget rewards as lifetime ad earnings grew. It would only have started at 700,000 lifetime ad nuggets; the highest reported total was around 14,000, so it had never affected a player. The mechanism has now been removed entirely.

Calculator impact: the growth simulator now keeps rewarded nugget ads at 8 nuggets each instead of stepping the reward down over time.

Why “no ad available” should appear less often

The Watch button used to stop searching after 12 seconds while the ad provider could take up to 30 seconds. Ads arriving between those timers were cached only after the player had been told none was available. In the reported fortnight, this caused 486 of 711 failed attempts — roughly two thirds.

Both systems now use the same 30-second window, and the button displays “Finding an ad...” while it searches.

Version 1.2.0 reports the boost honestly

The reward card now shows the exact boost time banked, reported by the server. It no longer guesses by comparing the balance before and after the ad, which could incorrectly display “BOOST ALREADY FULL”. Remaining daily boosts are visible below the Boost button again, and game audio is muted while an ad plays.

A practical ad routine

  • For nuggets, watch a round of four and use the visible 95-second pause for another in-game task.
  • Fill the boost bank to 12 hours during your first session; boost ads are not affected by nugget-ad pacing.
  • Return after the bank has run down and use the remaining allowance to cover the rest of the day.
  • Collect before your gem tanks reach 24 hours.
  • Set realistic boost and nugget-ad counts in the calculator rather than assuming the maximum.
